This Indenture made this 3rd day of March in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three. Between John
Fowler of the County of Bartholomew and State of Indiana of the
first part and Isaac Crawford of the County and State aforesaid
of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Fowler for and in
consideration of the sum 350 dollars to him in hand paid by
the said Isaac Crawford his heirs and assigns forever the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold
aliened and enscossed and by these presents doth grant bargain
sell alien and enscoss unto the said Isaac Crawford his heirs
and assigns forever all that certain tract or parcel of land lying
and being in the County of Bartholomew and State of Indiana
aforesaid East half of North east Quarter of Section Number fourteen

township number nine range number five East containing eighty
acres in the district of land sold at Jeffersonville. To have and to
hold to the said Isaac Crawford his heirs and assigns forever the
aforesaid tract or parcel of land aforesaid with all its appurtenance
and the said John Fowler for himself his heirs executors and administra-
tors doth hereby convent to and with the said Isaac Crawford his heirs
and assigns that he the said John Fowler is seized aforesaid tract or
parcel of in fee simple without incumberance with full power and law-
ful authority to sell and dispose of the same and that he the said
John Fowler his heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid
tract or parcel of land to the Isaac Crawford his heirs and
assigns will and shall by these presents forever warrant and defend
against himself his heirs executors and administrators and a-
gainst all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim
the same. In testimony whereof the said John Fowler and Lucinda
Fowler wife of the said John Fowler hath hereunto set their hands and
affixed their seals the day and year first above written.

Personally appeared John Fowler and
Lucinda Fowler and acknowledged their hands
and seals and seals affixed to the within deed of conveyance to be their
voluntary act and deed for the purposes expressed also examined
the wife separate and apart from her said husband and she doth freely relin-
quish her right of dower. Given under my hand and seal this 4th
day of march 1823
