Be it remembered that on this day
personally appeared Anderson C. Guthrie the executor named
in the last will and testament of William B. Guthrie deceased
and produced sail will for proof, which was duly proven
by the oath of Andrew Spear one of the subscribing witnes
ses thereto which will and proof reads as follows to wit,
State of Indiana South Hanover March 17th 1841,
The last will and testament of Wm B. Guthrie,
First, I commit the keeping of my soul to God, likewise the
care of my family to their kind preserver, I desire my
five children that live with me to have all my beds
and bedding and an equal division of the same to have
and have alike and my son Anderson C Guthrie to have
ten dollars in order to make up his bed good that he
received since he was married. I bequeth to my
daughter Eliz Jane Guthrie, my sorrel Tom horse and
side saddle and bridle for value recvd from her since
she was the age of twenty one years except fifteen dollars
she must pay to her sister Rebecca Ann for aiding her
in nursing her brother Barton Guthrie in his last illness.
I desire my son Wm F Guthrie to have half the interest
of my estate until he is of age, in order to pay for schooling
and clothing - I desire my household and kitchen furniture
to be reserved from sale until my youngest child is of age
in order that my family may be furnished for housek
eeping I desire when my youngest child that lives to
the age of twenty one year arrives I desires a division of
all my real and personal estate among all my children
both sons and daughters to have and have alike I
desire my son Anderson Guthrie to execute my will
with the aid and counsel of Williamson Dunn Senr or
some attorney at law, in confirmation of which I set
to my hand and seal this seventeenth day of March
one thousand eight hundred and forty one.

Be it remembered that on this
day personally appeared
before me the undersigned clerk of the Circuit and ex
officio clerk of the probate Court of said County Andrew
Spear one of the subscribing witnesses to the last will
and testament of William B Guthrie late of said County
deceased who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that
said William B Guthrie acknowledged the signing and
sealing of the written and foregoing instrument of writing
as his last will and testament to this deponent and one

one Williamson Dunn and that he said Andrew
Spear with one Williamson Dunn subscribed the
same as witnesses in the presence of each other
and in the presence and at the request of the said
William B Guthrie. This deponent further say
he verily believes the said William B. Guthrie was,
at the time he mad and executed said paper as
his will of sound mind and capable of disposing
of his property by will, and that he did publish and
declare the same to be his will, and further saith
not

Subscribed and Sworn to, be before me this 8 day
of January Ad 1842

And afterwards to wit on the 12 day of January
in said year came the said Anderson C Guthrie
and prayed that letters testamentary may be
granted him on the Estate of said William B.
Guthrie decd. and the said Anderson C Guthrie
entering into bond in the penal sum of three
thousand dollars, conditioned as the law directs
with John Lefaber, Nathaniel Rowhinson and
John Carothers as his securities and having taken
the oath in such cases mad and provided letters
testamentary are granted him on said Estate in
due form of law, subject to the confirmation or
avocation in due form of law

At a Probate Court begun and
held at the Court house in Madison in an dfor said
county on Monday the 14 day of February 1842 it
being the second Monday in February in said year
according to law
Present: The Honorable William
Hendrick, Jr the Probate Judge of said county

The Court now here approve the proceedings of the
Clerk in vacation in granting letters Testamentary
