This Indenture made this twenty first day of June in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two
between William B Guthrie & Polly his wife of the coun
ty of Jefferson & State of Indiana of the first part and Jesse
Gray of the same of the second part witnesseth that
the said William B Guthrie & Polly his wife for and in
consideration of the sum of sixteen hundred dollars lawful
money of the United States to them in hand well and truly
paid by the said Jesse Gray the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened released
conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant
bargain sell alien release convey and confirm unto the
said Jesse Gray his heirs and assigns forever all that certain
tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Jeff
erson & state of Indiana and known by the South west quarter
of section no twenty one in township no four north of range no
ten east in the district of lands offered for sale at Jeffersonville
and all the estate right title interest claim and demand of them
the said William B Guthrie and Polly his wife of in and
to the said premises and every part thereof Together with
all and singular the privileges and appurtenances tot he same
belonging or in any wise appertaining and the rents issues and
profits thereof to have and to hold the premises, hereby barg
gained and sold or ment or intended so to be with the
appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of the said

Jesse Gray his heirs and assigns forever and the said William B Guthrie and Polly his wife
their heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the
Jesse Gray his heirs exeuctors & administrators & assigs

that they are true and lawful owners of the premises hereby granted
and have good right full power and lawful authority to sell and convey
the same in manner and form aforesaid and further that they are the
said William Guthrie & Polly his wife their heirs executors and adm
inistrators will warrant and forever defend the aforesaid premises
with there appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof unto the
said Jesse Gray his heirs and assigns against all persons claiming
and to claim by from or under them or any of them or by from or
under any other person or persons whomsoever I witness whereof the
said William B Guthrie & Polly his wife have hereunto sets there
hands and seals the day and year first above written

The State of Indiana Jefferson County JCT
Before me N B Palmer a justice of the peace within and for
said county personally appeared William B Guthrie & Polly his
wife the parties and acknowledged the above deed of conveyance
to be there voluntary act and deed for the uses and purposes
therin mentioned the said Polly Guthrie having been examined
privily and apart from her said husband and such seperation
examined she the said Polly did declare that she did executed
the same without any compulsion or coerzion from her said husband
& that fully relinquised her right of dower to and the full
contents being made known Given under my hand and
seal this 21st day of June in the year of Lord one thousand
eight hundred and twenty two
