This Indenture made the first day of April in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven
between Robert Creath of the County of Ripley and State
of Indiana of the first part and James A Creath of the
County of Ripley and State aforesaid of the second part, witness
eth that the said Robert Creath for and in consideration
of the sum of eight hundred dollars lawful money of the
United Stats to him in hand well and truly paid by the
said James A Creath the receipt whereof is hereby ackno
wledged, hath granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed
and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell convey and conf
irm unto the said James A Creath his heirs and assigns
forever, all the following described piece or parcel of land
situate lying and being in the county of Ripley and State
of Indiana, to wit: Beginning at the north west corner of

the South East quarter of Section thirty-two township
seven Range Twelve Est running South along
the West line of said quarter to the South bank
of Loughery Creek to a Stone; thence South
eastward along the bank of said Creek with
the meandering of said creek to a large syc
amore marked R.C. which stands nearest
the mouth of the first branch below the mile
damn thence down said creek a south east
wardly to a certain Creek true marked with the
letter “R.C.” about two feet in diameter thence
South on a straight line up the branch that some
from Oliver Wetherbee’s to a sycamore marked as
a sight-true on the South line of said section
thence North on said section line to the North East
corner of the quarter section aforesaid; thence to
the place of Beginning containing by estimation
one hundred acres be the same more or less
And all estate, right title, interest, claim and
demand of him the said party of the first part of in &
to the said premises and every part thereof together
with all and singular the privileges and appur
tenances to the same belonging or in any
wise appertaining and the rents [fares] and prof0
its thereof To have and to hold the premises hereby
bargained and sold, or meant or intended so to be
with the appurtenances to the only proper use or
behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs
and assigns forever. And the said party of the
first part his heirs executors and administrators
doth covenant promise and agree to and with
the said party of the second part his heirs executors
administrators and assigns that he is the true and
lawful owner of the premises hereby granted and hath
good right full power and lawful authority to
sell and convey the same in manner and form aforesaid
and further that he the said party of the first part his
heirs executors & adminstrators will warrant and
forever defend the aforesaid premises with their app
urtenances and every part and parcel thereof unto
the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
against all persons lawfully claiming or to claim
by from or under him them or any of them or by person
or under any other person whomsoever
